For Piper's first birthday celebration, I decided to create a slideshow set to a soundtrack that reflected upon all the memories created from her conception up until that birthday. It was for me, and family members, a sentimental tearjerker of the best kind. I did it overnight and on a whim, so it wasn't as good as it could have been. It also wasn't in a transferable-to-the-web format...super bummer, right? Since then, I decided to rework the "film" via a nifty little video converter I thought was well worth the $40 price tag, as I know I'll be getting major use out of it in the years to come. I also reworked the video by adding in pictures from Piper's first birthday party and adding an additional song by Plumb that just makes my heart weep with joy and overzealous sentimentality. Did I mention I was a sucker for all things nostalgic and sentimental? I've also decided to make this a tradition, that will hopefully be a part of every year of her life and every birthday celebration, at least until the day when she gets so embarrassed that I have to make them in solitude and only bring them out when she's not looking...you know those horrible teenage years, but she'll appreciate them later, I just know it.
For now, here is the first of what I hope to be many years of films to come that will celebrate her childhood from beginning to whenever I am no longer able to do so. It's a bit of a long watch, but I think you won't regret it if you've been following along this first year of her life. And if you happen to be on an iProduct and don't have Flash, just click the link below the video and watch directly from Youtube. Yeah, I always add those cause I also have iProducts, lol. So, without further adieu, I present to you Piper's first year in all of it wonders and joys...
Don't let the length shy you away, it's an awesome movie!
